“You see things; and you say, 'Why?'
But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?'"
--George Bernard Shaw

As we contemplate all the great possibilities that life has to offer, we must examine our dreams and the paths we must take to achieve them.  For some the paths are straight and short, but for others the paths may be winding and seemingly stretched. This is very true when it comes to education in the United States, where less than 40 percent of minority high-school graduates attend college.  Income and cultural disparities play an important role in students’ abilities to attain a college education and follow up with a successful professional career.

My goal is to help students strive, especially those proceeding from low-income backgrounds. This teaching portfolio will keep you connected to my journey. It provides information about me, my philosophy about teaching and learning, and the teaching and learning strategies that I use to put theory into practice.
